I am a retired Property Manager , having previously worked in the UK property industry for forty plus years. Since pursuing a degree in Land Economics in the early Seventies, I was employed in professional management within private practice and the public sector. I have been involved in field sports since the age of five , some fifty five years now. I have enjoyed Labradors as shooting companions for over forty years My wife, Gill, and I have lived all our married life in Renfrewshire, Scotland. I began competing in Gundog Tests and Field Trials in 1985 and first qualified for the British IGL Retriever Championship in 1988 with Glenpatrick Gusto. This Labrador bitch, Gusto, formed the foundation of my Glenpatrick line. A daughter, FTCH Glenpatrick Halo produced FTCH Glenpatrick Eve, this bitch also going on to further produce many successful FTCH progeny. Eve's litter brother FTCH Glenpatrick Eclipse of Craigenros also positively contributed to working Labradors and I now enjoy picking-up and shooting over several of their offspring. I am a KC A Panel Judge and have fulfilled many judging appointments both in UK and Europe. I was honoured to be one of the Judges at the 2013 IGL Retriever Championship, held at Lauder in the Scottish Borders. I am the Field Trials Secretary of Scottish Field Trials Association, founded in 1907. I currently serve on the UK Kennel Club Liaison Council and am an active Committee member of numerous Scottish gundog clubs. |

Professionally, I’m a design engineer, having worked in design engineering since 1987. I spent my longest time (22 years) as a senior engineer with a company who manufactured city cleaning equipment for the municipal industry sending machines all over the world – the brand known as “The green machine” can be found in many cities including Prague in the Czech Republic Over the years I’ve served as a committee member on a few of the Scottish clubs committee and currently I’m the field trial secretary for the Gamekeepers National Association – a club that holds both a novice and an open qualifying field trial in Scotland. I enjoy judging dogs as well as running them and have judged many field trials as a non-panel judge both in Scotland and England, I was also delighted to be asked to judge a field trial in Sweden for the Swedish gundog league back in Dec this season. I’m looking forward to coming to the Czech Republic to meet like-minded people and enjoy watching your dog’s work. |
